Performance of the RADOS PDS instrument in monitoring patient dose parameters during diagnostic x-ray procedures is shown to be similar to that of a conventional dose area product meter. Additional monitoring capabilities are also assessed. The instruments ability to monitor the deterministic radiation hazard is confirmed and a potential for broader interpretation of patient dose data highlighted in both laboratory and clinical tests.
