An X-ray test object in Meccano

When a uniform beam of X-rays passes through a patient, it is reduced in varying amounts by different tissues. The lungs comprising about two thirds air, reduce it only a little; solid soft tissues, such as muscles, reduce it more; bone reduces it a great deal. The purpose of this article is to report the design, construction and testing of a prototype test object to demonstrate the facilities available with X-ray image intensification techniques.
