The Cumbria Unit of the Regional Medical Physics Department is based at Carlisle's Cumberland Infirmary. The hospital's main entrance is off Newtown Road. The nearest car park is off Infirmary Street. The Regional Medical Physics Department is in Scheme One near Radiotherapy.

From the north and south take the M6 exiting at junction 43 west onto the A69, sign posted Carlisle. Follow the A595 through Carlisle and after crossing over a railway bridge take the right turn at the roundabout onto Newtown Road (B5307). The hospital is on the right. Car parking is available, there is a charge.
The nearest airports are Newcastle International Airport and Glasgow Airport. From Newcastle International Airport take the Metro Light Railway to Central Station, Newcastle upon Tyne then change to the cross country rail service to Carlisle. From Glasgow Airport take the bus service to Glasgow Central Railway Station for the west coast service to Carlisle. There is a taxi rank outside the Carlisle Railway Station. The hospital is one and a quarter mile away.
Take the Intercity service to Carlisle. There are bus stops outside Carlisle Railway Station. The Bus Station is five minutes walk just off Lowther Street. The hospital is one and a quarter mile away.
Disembark at Carlisle Bus Station. There is a local bus service to Cumberland Infirmary. The hospital is one and a quarter mile away.
The hospital is served by a local bus service. 67 or 68 stop in the hospital grounds (see map above).
