The Cleveland Unit of the Regional Medical Physics Department is based at Middlesbrough's James Cook University Hospital. The hospital's main entrance is off Marton Road. There is a visitor's car park at the front of the hospital and a larger one round the back near Maternity. The Regional Medical Physics Department is near the Main Entrance. From Main Reception, Medical Physics is 30 metres to the right of Main Reception on the left hand side of the main corridor.

There is a charge for parking. Charges and availability may change at short notice. Please check on-site notice boards when you arrive.

Access from the South is via the A1, then the A19. Turn right onto the A174 to Marton; at Marton turn left onto the A172 and follow it for two miles, the hospital is on the right. From the North take the A19(T) exiting onto the A66 (Middlesbrough Bypass). Use this road If travelling from the west. Near the Football Stadium exit left onto the slip road (A172) sign posted Stokesley. At the roundabout turn right, then go straight ahead at the next roundabout onto Marton Road (A172). Travel three quarters of a mile. The hospital is on the left.
From Newcastle International Airport. Take the Metro light rail service into Newcastle-Upon Tyne changing at Central Station. Take a Transpennine Express train to Middlesbrough, you may need to change at Darlington. From Teesside Airport take a taxi to the James Cook University Hospital which is 12 miles away.
The Transpennine service has direct routes to Middlesbrough from Manchester, Leeds, York, Blackpool and Liverpool, and also places along these routes. Coming from the South change at York or Leeds, and from the North change at Darlington.
Disembark at Middlesbrough Bus Station. Take a number 27 or 63 bus to James Cook Hospital (about 10-15 minutes).
Middlesbrough is well served by public transport. Take a number 27 or 63 bus from Middlesbrough Bus Station to the James Cook University Hospital (about 10-15 minutes).
