Newcastle General Hospital

The Newcastle General Unit of the Regional Medical Physics Department is based at Newcastle General Hospital. The hospital's main entrance is off Westgate Road. The Regional Medical Physics Department is in the Northern Centre for Cancer Treatment building.

Car Parking

There is a charge for parking. Charges and availability may change at short notice. Please check on-site notice boards when you arrive.

Road

Access from the north and south is via the A1(M) and A1(T). At its junction with the A69 and A186 exit east on the A186 heading towards Newcastle upon Tyne city centre. After two miles pass a Fire Station on the right side of Westgate Road, the hospital's main entrance is on the left.

Air

Disembark at Newcastle International Airport. Take the Metro light rail service into Newcastle-Upon-Tyne Central Station. There is a taxi rank outside the Railway Station. The hospital is one and a half miles away.

Rail

Take the Intercity service to Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. There is a taxi rank outside the Railway Station. The hospital is one and a quarter miles away.

Coach

Disembark at St. James Boulevard. The Central Station is a short walk away. There is a taxi rank and bus stop outside the Railway Station. Several local bus services stop outside the hospital on Westgate Road. The hospital is one mile away.

Bus

Newcastle upon Tyne is well served by public transport. There are a number of local buses from the city centre which stop outside the hospital on Westgate Road.

Ambulance

If you need an ambulance please ring your GP who will arrange this for you.
