Innovations Transferred to Industry

The Department is involved in technology transfer of its innovations using commercial exploitation to ensure that advantages of medical devices developed within the Department are propagated rapidly throughout the health care field, to the great benefit of the NHS. The Department provides specialist services to non-NHS organisations - for example to the sunscreen industry.

Mechanical and electronic engineering facilities are used to design and develop novel medical instrumentation to attack problems whose solution is essential to development of cost-effective clinical services. The Department is involved in development of original diagnostic, therapeutic and remedial equipment.

Innovative Devices for Transfer
