Accelerating the use of Linacs

The New Opportunities Fund, NOF, has paid for two new linear accelerators (Linacs), one of which has been in use in the new treatment room at Newcastle General Hospital, since 4th December 2000. The commissioning of this accelerator by Regional Medical Physics Department (RMPD) staff attracted national acclaim for the speed in which it was achieved. The second NOF funded Linac will be operational later this year.
